Argo Navis Digital Telescope Computer

The new Argo Navis (DTC) a fantastic Australian product by Wildcard Innovations brings accurate astronomical positioning data to the telescope, complete with an extensive astronomical database available at the twist of the dial. Optical encoders allow precise guiding information for manual slewing or continuous computer Goto tracking in real time. The Argo Navis is self powered and designed for stand alone use and has the ability to interface with a PC planetarium program enabling a visual display.

A cool Argo Navis mounting cradle which Gary posted to me, will be mounted on the permenant peir

Philips ToUcam Pro 840k

From Telescopes & Astronomy in Sth. Aust. I got the ToUcam Pro. Its the most popular webcam for astro imaging. Using an adapter in any standard telescope accepting 1.25" eyepieces, the ToUcam produces magnification comparable to a 4mm eyepiece.First you have to just screw the lens off, you need some kind of adapter, then put the webcam in the focuser just like an eyepiece. To enlarge your focal lenght, use a barlow and you also need to fine tune the software settings of the camera.

Whant to get more info ? Check out the ToUcam webcam group.

I also ordered from Matt the Baader UV/IR (Infra Red) Filter - 1.25" with eyepiece adapter. To make focusing easier and reduce the bright stars to finer points. Apparently works great on Mars as well.
